Vismara Playing Cards

For Vismara Design, an Italian company known for its luxury gaming tables, including poker and blackjack tables, we designed a fully custom deck of playing cards created to complement the refined aesthetic of their products.

The project began with the intention of reinterpreting the visual language of traditional French playing cards through a contemporary and minimal approach. Every element of the deck was designed from scratch, from the suits to the court cards, as well as the back patterns.

The suits were reconstructed using a modular geometric approach that preserves the recognizability of the traditional symbols, hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades, while translating them into more essential and structured forms. The same design logic was applied to the court cards, which were completely redrawn. Kings, queens, and jacks were modernized through a more graphic and simplified visual language, while still retaining some of the iconic elements and recurring features typical of French playing cards to maintain their immediate readability during gameplay.

The result is a deck that merges function and visual identity: a playing tool designed to be elegant, distinctive, and perfectly integrated into a high-end gaming experience.
